New Zealand Mail is an accredited New Zealand Post service provider. Supplying specialist services to businesses requiring dedicated help with high volume mail facilities for mail handling, mail franking and hybrid mail services. They even provide a wide range of stamps and postage-paid envelope options. While Resene Paints do not produce, market or sell these stamps through their own stores, the stamps do provide a welcome, if rather an unusual form of advertising. They also use these stamps for their own postage requirements.

Produced and distributed by originally Stamps at Work, then Black Sheep Stamps and now NZ Mail, the stamps are predominantly sold through convenience outlets all over New Zealand. Resene postage stamps are just another way Resene is adding colour to our community. The stamps are legal postage stamps and can be used to send letters domestically and internationally, that is if you can bear to part with them!

These stamps were shown on two websites and in both cases, the information was lacking and images of very poor quality. While we would rather not include images like these I think the stamps are of interest.

2002 - Original series, large-sized stamps.

2002 saw what is considered to have been the original set of Resene stamps. There were five stamp designs being issued in larger and smaller formate, both being used for booklets of 10 stamps including two of each design. I really liked the titles of these first three stamps. Then showing a colour fan and open cans of paint complete the set nicely.

2003 - Auckland City Cow Parade

In a world-first, Resene in conjunction with Auckland Heart of the City and Stamps at Work released New Zealand postage stamps featuring 9 cows from the Auckland Cow Parade. The issue of stamps caused chaos akin to a stampede, with the entire print run selling out in just days. The Cow Parade stamps were the second in the series of Resene postage stamps.
The cows were a herd of 60 life-sized fibreglass cows then painted by different artists using Resene paints. We have included photographs of some of the cows that appear on the stamps. Notice that one of these cows was known as the Resene Rainbow Cow.

Painted by Kathy Reid, the Resene Rainbow Cow is coated in a myriad of colours to get her looking her best. As the 'Official Cow Parade Paint Supplier', the Resene Rainbow Cow was part of the first herd and was seen grazing at Te Whero Island.

2003 - The Range for 2004.

Resene The Range 2004 postage stamps featuring a palette of The Range 2004 colours. The Range 2004 stamps were so popular that many customers requested them instead of the traditional Christmas stamps being sold at the same time!!

This series was first seen in April 2004 in a larger formate then later, in November 2004 was issued used a smaller format as well.

2004 - Christmas.

The final issue on this page is Christmas 2004. These were decorations that might be found hanging on a Christmas, but rather than the usual glass and sparkle, in this case, painted in popular Resene colours.
